I was reading a postal service from someone on wwe.2k.com message boards, who claims that we cannot utilize created content we take downloaded offline.

He says that this means when the WWE2K18 servers shut in a couple of years, that all of your created content for WWE2K18 will non exist able to be accessed.

I tried this out myself. I turned off my modem, and had the game be offline. I then loaded upwards the game, and when you pick a CAW in a friction match, the screen goes black, and information technology says that online content cannot be accessed due to parental controls.

The thing is, I don't take parental controls switched on.

Then, I want to inquire you guys to try it for yourself, and so answer me these questions:-

1)I tried it with WWE2K17 as well. The aforementioned warning appeared, but then information technology let me pick CAWs. I have WWE2K17 on disc, but WWE2K18 as a digital download.

Could those who take WWE2K18 on disc exam this, and run across if they have the same problem. If non, it might only affect downloaded copies of the game?

2) Could those who have parental controls prepare on their console, tell me if they experience any problems? If not, then maybe parental controls need to be on to admission CAWs offline.

I don't know why this trouble occurs. There are two theories equally to why:-

ane) It is a glitch which hasn't been patched.

two) It is deliberate, so that we will then have to buy WWE2K19, and so that we can have superstars that nosotros downloaded on WWE2K18.

If the former, so possibly it won't be patched, because 2K accept probably moved onto WWE2K19 now. If the latter, so that sucks, and it ways that they might do the aforementioned affair to all the games going forward.

So, could some of you lot out there please test this out for yourselves. Mayhap there is a workaround, or there is a fashion to access them offline.

Also, practice you remember that this ways that CAWS, CAA etc will no longer be usable on WWE2K18 when the servers are close down?

This volition suck if true, although at least virtually of my Wrestlers are ported or MODS.
But I do have some very good downloaded Wrestlers, arenas, belts....

That does suck, non so much for years downwardly the line just sometimes my cyberspace goes out and if information technology does I tin can't play the game until whenever it decides to randomly come dorsum.

This plus micro transactions makes me sick. Say what yous will most it (micro trans) being everywhere at present that doesn't go far right. If information technology's available, impatient and dumb people will buy it. It'south taking reward of those groups of people (non proverb it's ONLY those two types of people who pay for micro trans only they're the bulk) and exploiting them fifty-fifty if they don't make much money. Couple that with HAVING to upgrade every year because 90% of created content is unavailable and y'all have poor people unable to continue buying the game. Good task 2K.

Edit: this isn't a guarantee evidently as micro transactions oasis't been confirmed I don't call up for future iterations and nor has this CAW issue just if they both plough out to be truthful, that'south icky.

And again, I'm not saying if you pay for those features that you are impaired. I only discover virtually people who pay for features already in a game are either too impaired to know they're giving actress money to a company that doesn't need it OR they're and then impatient to upgrade their characters, homes, game, etc that they pay for the content even though it should 100% Be Free.

Awesome game. Could y'all imagine when they moved to next gen with 2K 15, if they removed the content downloaded for 2K 14? People who didn't similar the simulation style game or the lack of custom music like Anime Rex would basically be shit out of luck.

Someone else on wwe.2k.com said that they wonder if the CAWs volition even so exist accessable after the servers shut down, every bit the problem has been pinpointed to exist that it happens when you have 2 players and both aren't signed into the PSN store.

At present, I tried something today. I turned off my modem, then loaded upward WWE2K15 and and then WWE2K16. They had a black screen at offset, merely and then when I went to play my match, the CAWs were however accessible, despite the servers being turned off for those games.

I picked those two because they are 2K games, and I wonder why 2K would accept the CAWs non be accessible once the servers go down for WWE2K17 and WWE2K18?

It does this crap even when I'm online.

2K guarenteed I'g non shelling out money for some other WWE game they make. Information technology's been like this since day 1 and they haven't fixed information technology, fifty-fifty with all of the complaints.

They deserve nothing but to lose money.

I just saw the WrestleMania edition of 2k18 and thought about buying it. Glad I didn't. This is complete BS. Downright anti-consumer.

Bumping this but to say I can all the same use downloaded caws later the server shutdown at the end of last month.

Anyhow I can empathise them disabling community creations, but I don't see a reason why 2k had to disable the ability to upload face and attire logos into our own games. Hopefully this changes in future installments.

As long, equally you download the items before the CC server shuts down on a WWEGame.
You'll be able to employ them, just like with 2K17, 2K16 etc.
And to get around that other consequence, log in with a 2d PSN business relationship.
